I’m just getting in the door after searching through racks and racks and racks of DVF merchandise. Navigating through the sale was like looking for a seat on the A train during rush hour; it was loud, people were pushy and a little hood. One highlight was the random dance performance by the DVF Rockettes, they were fun.
I arrived at the sale at about 7:00AM and as we waited for the doors to open, the line grew to down the street and around the corner. Two hours later the doors opened and upon entering, all bags and coats had to be checked. The sale is organized by sizes and price labels are found throughout the space. Clothes in size zero start to the far left and racks continue to the cashiers on the right at size 14. Towards the back, you’ll find the mad house of a communal dressing room, packaged sweaters, jeans and the coveted damage and sample pieces.
The sale is filled with graphics and colors (bold neon pink shorts, a turquoise lace shift dress and a gold sparkly cocktail dress caught my eye) and of course, tons of Diane’s signature wrap dresses. The sample sale is a girly girl’s playground with a few bullies. The sale continues throughout the rest of the week and the ad states that new merchandise will be restocked daily.
